Squirrel Monkeys are an endangered species. Earlier they were a common sight in many parts of South America, the species has now experienced a decline in population due to a number of reasons.
Squirrel Monkeys form groups with strong hierarchy. A band can consist of 12-100 species. Usually, a group consists of a few smaller ones. Adult males prefer to associate with other adult males, while females are seen in female groups with infant species.
